Back on Track

God's plans are so much better than mine, infinitely.

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds ; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.  A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.  God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
-Psalm 68:5

But for some reason, I seem to always pull myself away from You when I realize my plans are not the plans you have for me.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
-James 1:27

Three and a half wasted months of ignoring You because I was sure my plan was better.  Wasted because I could have been seeking You with my whole heart and loving You with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
-Jeremiah 29:11-13

Now, I am beginning to understand why I am here in Kansas City and not in Jamaica this summer.  Instead of getting on a plane tomorrow (or sometime this week) to go to Harmons, Jamaica, I am taking some of my first steps into the type of ministry that God just might be calling me into.  I can't think of anything much more beautiful than God turning pain into ministry.  Hurt into healing.  Healing into newness and restoration.  Hatred into forgiveness and love.

All in all, I can't wait to for this summer in Kansas City to get started!  Being here is nothing of my own plan, so it must be His -- which is why I am confident it will be amazing!
